Towers went to Maxdorf as league leaders and favourites for this game! Towers were motivated to start the back round on a high and begin the Christmas celebrations as early as possible. As the game progressed a 10 point lead was mostly the margin which towers couldn’t build on and break away
It seemed Christmas was on hold for the time being
Quarter 1
Towers team passing was beginning to open up the game, while their opponents were working hard but couldn’t find a way to stop towers from scoring!
A positive offence saw Towers Score 31 points in the first quarter and looked like a runaway score was starting to build but a determined Maxdorf would step up and start their challenge
Quarter 2
Towers were settling into their game and working hard on defense however some questionable fouls put the opponents to the free throw line and a rhythm that was showing to take a grip on the game was temporarily halted
Half Time
Maxdorf 42 – 50 Towers
Quarter 3
Towers strategy was to up the tempo and take over the game!
pressure defence put stress on Maxdorf and forced turn overs but this time towers were slowly but surely pulling away!
While the opponents were fighting for survival Towers smothering defence was overwhelming and forced turnover after turnover!
Now settling in and changing players often the intensity was high and the anticipation of a win was looming
Quarter 4
Still Maxdorf was trying to resist and had a few good phases but not enough to bring them back into the game! Towers had put all 11 players into the game and was rewarded with great team play!
Maxdorf 61 – 91 Towers
Towers could now relax and enjoy their sleigh ride back home to speyer
